deck the halls with boughs of holly, tra la la la laaaaa, la la la laaaa! yesss its that time of the year again. 25 dec, christmas time! so had a fairly decent haul last night haha, a nice shirt, neckwear, slippers etc. was just thinking that after one year of on-off meeting ups, suddenly within december alone the class has met up quite a few times haha. started with the esplanade one, then zouk, and just the other day at holland v. not to mention those times when i wasnt there. bumper crop indeed. not complaining though. still at least one more confirmed one on the 30th. and maybe 31st -twinkle- haha

man my body is still trying to recover from wed haha. had half day yesterday, ended up meeting tengchi for lunch at marche. mmm havent eaten there in awhile, nice crepe! couldnt decide wat to do after, so ended up going home haha. so paiseh, made him come down to town to eat and then just zao afterwards. at home slept like from 4 to 6+ then it was almost 7 when i realised the sbones were going down to holland v to have dinner. rushed down there and actually walked to holland v from buona vista stn. seems a little farther than i remb. prob cos im fat now, cant exercise hahah. while walking there i was wondering if i was in fact walking along the correct road, i mean so much has changed, theres a new carpark for one thing. soooo.. yeah in the end i went all the way from my house, which is like 10mins away from katong?) to holland v to eat katong laksa hahah. well i dont particularly mind, i mean meeting up with everybody again adds spice to a otherwise mundane life currently haha. hanging out at holland v again made it seem like just another day after sch hehe, what memories. went to gelare for icecream after, gotta say, their waffles are pretty good, but andrew and i shared a large one with 3 scoops of icecream, which was a bit overkill i thnik haha. by the time we finished the waffle there was still like 3/4 scoop left. oh yeah and joses-bigshot-sharapova-wong actually came down to join us! havent seen him in awhile haha. adjourned to orchard after that, but then was still feeling the effects of sleep deprivation so went home fairly early haha. yeah and slept for like 9 hours till now but still abit lethargic hmm, havent developed hardwired bods like the rest of them haha.
well basically had a good time, esp listening to zhiyang's drunk antics. only thing though was that at certain points i felt invariably left out, not knowing what was going on. getting there!

haha i cant believe it, i survived one whole day w/o concussing considering i slept at what 4.20am? and woke up at 5.50am? well snuck some half hr or so naps any- and everywhere and finally totally woke up at like 8 or so. ok rewind, this is how it all came about. quite a few ppl from g3, g2 and ddb branches were gonna go to mambo. and i knew for a fact that several of my classmates would be there as well. so i figured oh what the heck, if ever there was a time to relinquish mambo-virgin status, this was it. i must say i was really apprehensive, i mean me and dancing is like trying to mix oil and water: AINT HAPPENING! received loads of encouragement from both sides, debbie, nat, alvin, derren etc (well mainly cause i shamelessly asked for it haha) so finally gave it a go. met up with the 2pdf ppl at GWC for supper first, before walking over to zouk. the queue was pretty long, but surprisingly it moved rather fast, thankfully. i was looking out for the sbones but didnt see anyone. apparently they were at phuture. oh well i reckon i would've preferred mambo muzak anyhow, would prob know most of the songs. anyway i found out that apparently only a small percentage of the ppl there actually know many mambo dance moves. i had envisioned perfectly choreographed routines with me, being newbie, sticking out like king kong's sore thumb. saw quite a few familiar faces right off the bat: cfps/bmt brandon, bmt yingjie, keith, kenneth etc. keith said andrew and debbie were around someplace but i couldnt spot them. so anyway while playing the finger guessing game drained like a jug of vodka-ribena (dont look at me, i didnt order! im just the vessel) i felt rather stoned. itsd like when i turn my head, my eyes lag behind. needless to say for the second time in the space of 4 days, i was staggering my way about. danced it off and after a few toilet breaks. ran into debbie and nat. or to be precise, i was relying on the wall for support when they noticed me. for some reason i just felt that running into ppl i know was quite cool haha. gives you the gravely misleading but satisfying notion that u know heck of a lot of ppl haha. was intending to leave at 3, but the music just kept getting better. had kylie, britney, pet shop boys, bon jovi etc. how to zao when such music is playing?! haha in the end left at 340 and saw nat and debbie at the entrance/exit. was seriously contemplating not sleeping at all when i reached home. but decided zero sleep would be too punishing for the body. so fastforward back to the present. yeah all in all an immensely fun-filled night. music rocked, company also rocked. too bad i didnt get to meet andrew, zhiyang etc. also was thinking to myself that poor joses must be stuck in camp somewhere haha, otherwise i think he wouldve had liked to join us. well ok, i oughta be sleeping soon. treat last night as possible training/prelude to the NYE countdown at Expo if i end up going haha.

just finished watching In Good Company. bought the vcd recently, along with F4NT4STIC 4 and American Wedding. expected a really riproaring comedy, but was more of a dramedy really. grumble, slightly cheated. also i wonder why Scarlett Johansson is such hot property. i mean ok she's not too bad looking but her acting's pretty stoic and she has a pretty much emotionless voice. shrug. shucks man feeling way too sleepy at 10.15pm (now duh). i want to watch the EPL highlights at 11! want to watch man utd put 4 past wigan. want to watch man utd put 2 past villa (including that jawdropping cross by cristiano ronaldo). want to watch a supposedly comical david weir own goal for everton. wonder if they'll have the 3-3 boro-spurs thriller as well.
sigh cant take it, think im gonna sleep.
oh yeah also completed Phase 2 (execution) of my undercover stealth mission at bugis today. did Phase 1 (recce) yesterday. reported to higher HQ (codenamed agent n@) before proceeding with mission. fire support was to be provided by agent 1+c. tried contacting cyborg w31 for additional support but couldnt establish a connection.

went to wong's bbq yesterday. wah lau his house is at dover, then i had to take 7 for like 70mins all the way there. managed to catch twenty winks though haha. so anyway was helping to grill chicken wings, sausages and the like, until i think my whole face got a free steam facial treatment. sia la, was daaamn hot. but my grilling skills arent half bad if i do say so myself haha. they had this bottle of martini or something and we were playing table tennis, loser drinks each time. hmm yeah my table tennis technique improved also haha, getting the hang of topspinning the ball. there was still some left after we were done playing. and heres the unbelievable bit. i lost THREE consecutive open numbers and had to finish it. i mean what the hell! what are the chances?! was staggering ever so slightly after that, but was still coherent hahaha. well came back feeling daaaamn full and stayed up to watch the chelsea arsenal game. duh disappointing to say the least.

woah after that night stoning in front of government property and chatting, other things now seem dull by comparison haha. well ok so loitering there at night isnt exactly a deathdefying feat but point is nowadays life seems kinda mundane haha. well anyways went to play lan with some of the guys yesterday. soso i guess, won and lost. the weirdest thing though, when i died and was waiting to respawn, i was just looking around the lan shop and damn, i swear i saw someone who looks like mel. now every logical part of me is thinking "no way! she cant be in a lanshop of all places" but yet the resemblance was uncanny. but i didnt want to go and jack myself by taking a closer look, scarly some stranger hahaha. went to watch kink konk after ward. not too bad i guess, tho i wonder why he was like oddly shaped arms. like forearms huge-r than his biceps hmm.
anyway at the moment just soaking in the festive mood by umm "acquiring" christmas mp3s from "enterprising" sources via "networking" programs. haha anyone wants me to burn a copy? i have most of the popular ones. fave is the first noel by clay aiken. he voice rox

went to meet up with my classmates yesterday. and well being the extremely punctual person that i am, i arrived on time! so apart from being punctual, i'm also brilliant (not to mention modest!) and thus i sent out 3 msgs to the people (in my opinion, most likely to be punctual) and taaadaaah! both andrew and nat were fellow members of the punctuality club. i saw andrew first then we sat down along the bay area and he said it looked freaking gay haha. nat arrived shortly after, and mistook some other shorthaired dude for me hahahah. actually i shouldnt be laughing la, when she was looking around for us, neither andrew nor myself were 100% sure if that was her. i mean she looks different wat! then if shout out and scarly wrong person how! pai seh leh. haha it was so nice listening to everybody's little anecdotes on how things have transpired since we last met. then jason was talking about how he thought he heard joses calling him and when he had a closer look it was just some m*ts playing a fool hahaha, priceless. ate at glutton's bay, which reminds me a lot of newton actually. but with like a 10-20% increase in prices haha. for the ambience i expect. later on we also walked all the way, skirting padang, just to sit in front of some parliament building to chat haha. it's right up there with the other crazy things that we've done. shame i didnt bring my bag. if i did, i would've brought my camera haha. okaaaay thats a tenuous link but still.. in the end nat used her phone to take photos. 2mpx sia, any higher and some cameras will be obsolete. ooo yeah and andrew gave me a ride home too. how convenient, perhaps i oughta learn driving sometime soon too keke.
and lest i forget, here is the attendance for yesterday night! andrew, nat, mel, keith, angela, jason, teng chi, debbie and lou. and of course, yours truly. heyhey 10 isnt bad considering its like our 1st yr reunion, and many dudes and dudettes are overseas.
oh yes another thing, when i was chatting with them yesterday, it occurred to me that i kinda sounded different. not in voice, but in speech. i mean heck nowadays i either speak in mandarin or in butchered
english. and finally yesterday i was speaking proper england again. felt, for lack of a better word, relieved.

mmm another fairly relaxing day at work today. well anyways after work went with alvin, jonathan and wong to holland v starbucks cos they were having free drinks from 5-7 as part of the effort to help the salvation army. went at like 620 but the queue cleared damn fast and less than 1 minute after i placed my order i got my drinks liao, woah thats really fast. so anyway after getting my drink at like 645 i sent out mass sms and spammed some of my friends regarding the promo haha and also a little -ahem- tip. keke i wonder what their reaction was upon reading my sms. prob thinking if im faking them haha. well i guess whoever believed me got their reward haha. sad thing is im sure there are ppl who will totally not donate at all despite getting a no strings attached drink. i mean how hard issit to donate even if just 2 bucks? even if just to soothe one's conscience heh. oh but anyway at holland v met andrew leong and his gf. hmm think they've been together for like 1 yr plus already, woah tims has passed. then at liat towers starbucks ran into debbie lam. or, to be more precise she saw me. i totally didnt notice haha, but i tbought i heard someone calling me. ah well was pleasantly surprised. apparently she was just next door and scooted over after receiving my sms. mmm ok so i didnt send out sms's in vain. another of my friends also went to the starbucks at bugis. chalk up another for me! my friends 6 starbucks 0 haha. ooo and saw mark lee there as well. heard him commenting that he missed the promotion but he gave 10 bucks and posed with the salvation army ppl for photographs heh. nice gesture though sometimes i wonder if they're also forced by circumstances, i mean celebs cant look cheap can they heh. well certainly been a good day for rekindling friendships, geez i sound like a horoscope now.

ahhh ahhhh getting closerer and closerer to christmas! wheeeee positively reveling in the mood. did i even spell reveling/revelling right? is there even a present continuous tense of the word revel? dont matter! happy season! man nowadays over the radio when they play the odd christmas related song (most notably the one that goes "last christmas, i gave you my heart. the very next day, you gave it away") its like the whole festive mood is being ushered in slowly by slowly. i guess some ppl would disagree that its all overhyped and christmas is all too commercialised. but you know what, if commercialising something results in all of man being in good cheer i say bring on commercialism! soon the hallowed hallways of the shopping malls will be postiviely perforated with a yuletide aura. hmm yeah just wrote down that last sentence because i wanted to use the word "perforated" somewhere. oh yeah just now singnet was down, silly buggers, wonder what they were doing down at the main server thingy. also getting to know my office mates better now. just wanna go meet up with all my 'mates sometime soon baybeh!

was playing a dota game just now when i was damn frustrated at my allies not chionging to quickly wrap up a 3v2 game. while in a pissed mood i actually came up with a retortslashinsult that was pretty funny now that i think about it. here goes:

mm yeah. anyway as if being preoccupied with dota isnt enough, i now have both FM06 and Civ4 whee. managing barcelona in fm and managed the spanish double in first season whee. in 2nd season now am also england manager cos they fired eriksson. in civ4 my prev game involved controlling russia. and um yeah i founded confucianism and spread it as far as i could haha. ended up warring against Napoleon and Cyrus (who?!)

oh wow, just came back from dinner at clark quay and saw this waitress chick with a flawless face. woah bowled over. not perfect, but flawless (hmm reminds me of diablo2 gems classification haha) seriously man prob like 9 or 9.5/10. woooo somebody turn up the airconditioning! a hint of foreign accent coupled with the girlishness in her voice was a nice combi keke. the first metaphor that comes to mind is that of a work of art ya know. in its deserved-ness to be admired and for ppl to drink in the splendour.

feeling particularly vile at the moment. just lost another dota game, which is fucking ridiculous. next time when i meet people i should stop asking them whether they play dota. because chances are they do. and chances are we will then be obliged to play together. and most importantly though, chances are they fucking suck. freaking hell if you suck so bad at a game, dont bloody play it. ok thats bordering on mean so i guess that means if they do play, dont freaking join my game then. argh are competent players so hard to come by?! you'd think despite playing as a pasttime people would try to at least be moderately good at it. i mean freaking hell, how enjoyable is playing as a past time when u bloody get thrashed every single time. i could never see the logic in that and i still dont. as far as i can remember, every game i've played i've made an effort to improve. let me count the ways, starcraft, check. cs, check. gunbound, check. d2, check. dota, well duh. sjkdhasjkdhaskdjhaskdjshadk. so damn frustrated. also coincides with now being sunday evening and have to go back to camp tmr.

went to watch harry potter and the goblet of fire just now with zh, alex, josh, luke, santosh and the tengs. basically the overall feel of the movie is kinda dark, as compared with the first couple of movies where the endings were so happy-happy. another realisation is that somehow the movie seems very lacking. i mean yeah its nice but many events and details were omitted so its kinda sucks-to-be-you-if-you-didnt-read-the-bookish. well luckily i did, and can remb most details haha. but really the movie seems to centre on harry potter a lot, which i guess is kinda what the book does as well. but in the case of the movie its like every other character plays nothing more than a bit part. even the other triwizard champions seem so peripheralish. "cedric" more or less fits the bill, reasonably handsome and tall and such. i kinda imagined viktor krum to be less thuggish looking and more of the brooder type, prob with tousled hair rather than no hair. as for fleur well i didnt know she was so french looking haha. but hey no complaints there, oh wait there is one. there should be more scenes with her in it haha. she has nice features and so do the other veela come to think of it. they did a nice girlish dance in the scene just b4 the maze if i recall. ooo they looked cute in those blue uniforms. hmm just found out from the webpage that apparently the actress portraying fleur is actually french as well. but anyway still cant compare with emma watson! looking better and better with each passing episode. at this rate if she gets any better looking its gonna be criminal. mmm fave scene was when she was talking to harry through the tarp thingy, before bursting into a hug and getting caught by rita paparazzi skeeter. oh yeah just remb something else, dont really like cho's scottish accent. well actually just dont like scottish accents. just listen to alex ferguson speak, ugh its like unintelligible. yay and man utd just won 3-1 woo nice weekened.

ok finally received posting out from s*spec g*lf. was fun while it lasted, especially the past 2 weeks where the entire company was in taiwan. really got to chat with dean, kelvin and even ali, king of the babas. of the lot dean and i had the most in common: gaming interests, pasttimes etc and we struck it off really well. could talk at length about winning eleven, dota, comic strips among other things. well i doubt if i'll ever get the chance to set foot on pulau tek*ng again, and thus not into s*spec either. so i guess that'll mean i've taken my last fastcraft haha. i guess to some extent i'll miss the routine, i mean having been in tek*ng since april and all. and also been in s*spec since like the end of june. met sgt ahmed at the ferry terminal the other day and had a nice chat with him reminiscing about old times in r*ven company and all. he says we're still the best batch haha, dunno how true tt is but all the same i think training-wise bmt was the most memorable, perhaps due to the transition from "normal" to "gahmen slave". so anyways my new posting is at cl*menti camp but when i went there today apparently they havent figured out which dept and stuff to put me at so i guess i'll find out tmr. aaaaand i think i'll get to book out everyday mwahahaha. booya!
ps. i added all those *s in my post since more bloggers are getting prosecuted. at least this way i wont be guilty of inadvertently giving away army secrets. wheee arent i smart! not that anybody is interested in said secrets anyway zz. paranoid buggers.

wow there hasnt been an update for a v long time even by my standards. well went to watch deuce bigalow today, yes its very belated i know. really crude haha but tres funny! also been spending most of my free time playing dota nowadays. polishing up the ahem-already quite good- skills haha. sadly sparring partner zh is now in thailand for crescendo. so more or less playing with ks nowadays. also made mental note to myself to get a new digicam after/towards the end of ns. man nowadays them digicams are like wafer thin v nice. i recall last yr angela had this really nice canon ixus thingy. fwah. sleek. elegant. etc etc. could go on. but anw nowadays we're spoilt for choice really. theres lumix and blah blah. awaiting civilisation 4 to come out on pc. also for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to come out soon. i think i'll do advance bookings. GoF was absolutely my fave book of the lot. so far Cedric seems as good looking as the book makes him out to be. Fleur.. ok i guess but i expected her to look less human hmm. but imo Cho Chang doesnt quite fit the bill. oh well perhaps the full length of the movie will change that perception. okok off to bed.

havent updated my blog in a rather loooong time. well anyways practically every week for the past 3 weeks (or so i think), been meeting up with all the sbones. kinda fun actually, its like a whole sequence of class outings that never was. so umm lemme try to recall. 3 weeks ago ate at taka to celebrate keith and jason's belated birthday. 2 weeks ago went to mark teng's house to watch OC and then eat at Newton. hmm as i recall tt was supposed to be like last-kinda outing with nat before she scoots off to the uk but then i arrive umm slightly late and she had already left/gone home whatever. and just this past week went to the airport to see nat off. wah a whole load of ppl were there man, even our juniors haha. oooh yeah yesterday was also like the first time i saw louisa since A level results day i think haha. man thats freeeeeeaking long sia. anw over the past few weeks was able to catch up with everyone again. and thats nice!
on a side note, due to inefficiencies of the govt medical sector, finally had to see a private specialist which set back mucho $. anyways have some status now which would probably lead to ooc.
